Alpine renews car audio designs, expands offerings of map software

Alpine Electronics Inc believes that the 1998 vehicle aftermarket will consist of a 50-50 ratio of compact disc (CD) players and cassete equipment. It has therefore revamped and upgraded its lineup of automobile CD players and cassete systems and developed a number of new automobile navigation maps on CD-ROMs. It has also introduced MiniDisc players and TV tuners for the first time under Alpine brands. Alpine's ultimate goal is to bolster its presence in the car aftermarket by expanding its product lineups for all audio-video fields.

Fujitsu Ten releases CD-related lineup

Japanese company Fujitsu Ten Ltd introduced a series of new compact disc (CD)-related equipment, amplifiers and speakers in the automobile aftermarket early in 1998. It has an extensive product line. Offerings include a CD tuner model 5303R equipped with a CD control function, MDC, equalizer, digital signal processor (DSP) control and wireless remote controller and a high-power 5342R CD receiver with CDC/MDC, equalizer and DSP control and wireless remote control.
