Multiple-layer boards contain little halogen

Victor Co of Japan Ltd (JVC) is marketing its latest VIL built-up multiple-layer printed circuit board (PCB), which is a nearly halogen-free model that offers the same relialibity as its predecessors and results from the same production conditions. The company foresees an expansion of the market for VIL boards, which are spreading to the information and digital audio-video equipment manufacturing sectors. JVC plans to increase its monthly output of these nearly halogen-free VIL boards to 5,000 sq m by Oct 1999.

Building on strengths of DVCPRO series, Matsushita extends lineup
Article Abstract:
Matsushita will display its DVCPRO Series products at the NAB '99 trade show. The DVCPRO VTRs use a 1/4-in tape and a digital compression format for moving data. Its digital cassette tape has one-fourth the volume and one-sixth the weight of an ordinary 1/2-in tape cassette. On the other hand, the DVCPRO recorders offer recording and transfer rates of 25 or 50 Mbps. For instance, the DVCPRO 50 has a 50 Mbps transfer rate, 4:2:2 sampling rate and a compression rate of 1/3.3.
