Network environments polish venue for digital home A/V equipment
Article Abstract:
The impending realization of the digital network environment will provide the impetus for a dramatic improvement in the designs of future audio- video (A/V) equipment. Present-day A/V equipment such as Digital Videocassettes, DVDs, MiniDiscs and CDs, while superior to their analog counterparts, are stil considered to be little improved from their predecessors. Nevertheless, these minute changes are expected to pave the way for the building of information technology infrastructures that will hasten the arrival of the networking environment.
