On-line billing: new solutions to old problems
Article Abstract:
A number of electric utilities are automating their billing systems, either through an in-house system or by outsourcing the service to third-party billers. Billing has grown into a separate industry such that a number of firms, especially software developers, are forging partnerships to engage in the business. One innovative billing service is being marketed by the Payment Solutions Group in the form of the PayStation Terminal, a series of automated teller-like machines which allows customers to pay their electricity bills any time of the day.
