Advanced series compensation boosts line capacity
Article Abstract:
The Western Area Power Administration improved the capacity of its power transmission lines by installing advanced series compensation (ASC) equipment. ACS equipment allowed the capacity of a 300-megawatt line to be increased to 400-megawatts without overloading it.
