Sharp's audio system comes with 1-bit digital amplifier

Sharp Corp has unveiled three new digital audio systems that have 1-bit amplifiers for sampling signals at 2.8 MHz, which is 64 times the CD sampling rate. The SD-NX10, SD-CX1 and SD-FX1 series are also equipped with a 7th-order delta sigma modulator for life-like sound reproduction. The three models are also compatible with the latest MiniDisc standard, enabling users to record up to 320 minutes onto a single 80-minute MD. The SD-NX10 has a retail price of 110,000 yen, the SD-CX1 for 70,000 yen and the SD-FX1 for 55,000 yen.

Matsushita's RP-SP28 speaker system with built-in amplifier

Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd has released the RP-Sp28 speaker system. The audio equipment features a built-in amplifier and is powered by four dry AA batteries with a maximum practical output of 800mW + 800mW. The RP-SP28 speaker system can be used as external speakers of portable MiniDisc and CD players, headphone stereo and other portable audio equipment.
