Start of digital TV provides new focus for broadcast equipment
Article Abstract:
Broadcast equipment manufacturers in Japan are developing and marketing products and systems for the growing digital HDTV broadcasting industry. Sony Corp has launched its line of HDTV system such as high-definition camcorders and switchers, while Matsushita has introduced its DVCPro cameras for high-definition uses and D5 high-definition products. Other companies with their own lines of HDTV systems are NEC Corp, Toshiba Corp, Hitachi Denshi Ltd and Ikegami Tsushinski Co Ltd.

New technologies usher in bundle of Snazzy broadcasting products
Article Abstract:
Developments in the broadcasting industry, including analog to digital system changes, the introduction of interactive services and new services that combine the use of computers and communication equipment, have led to the creation of new broadcasting equipment. These include the introduction of new camera systems that offer enhanced picture stability and quality. Advances in technology has also led to better video tape recorders and editing systems.

Digital S products form core of JVC's broadcast business strategy
Article Abstract:
Victor Company of Japan (JVC) will display its Digital S series of broadcast-use VTRs at the NAB '99 annual trade show. The company will unveil a 100MHz Digital S model, in the stationary and dockable versions. The company will also display storage and codec products including an MPEG encoder and decoder at NAB '99. JVC will also demonstrate its direct image light amplifier projectors and 4:3 and 16:9 switchable cameras.
