Digital format prompts changes in China's broadcasting system
Article Abstract:
China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television has announced its plans for digital broadcasting. These include the establishment of central governmental and provincial-level organizations that will be in charge of radio, film and television. Broadcasting officials also intend to promote the adoption of digital technologies and networks at TV broadcast centers. Meanwhile, scientists, engineers and technicians in China will pursue research and development of high-tech systems such as HDTV.

Multimedia, digital services prompt new waves in broadcasting
Article Abstract:
Digital broadcasting is having a significant influence on television broadcasting with features such as multiple-channel broadcasts. The convergence of broadcasting and communication technologies will also pave the way for bi-directional and interactive broadcasting. Digital broadcasting can also transmit larger amounts of information than analog systems. The higher quantity may be in the form of better picture quality, enriched audio or subtitles in different languages.
