The New Battery Battle
Article Abstract:
The battery industry is on alert for new technologies. Many research laboratories believe that lithium is the upcoming technology. Lithium batteries will take several years before they have good applications. Nickel cadmium video power packs are becoming increasingly important with the penetration of portable VCRs and cameras. Sales of rechargeable batteries are expected to grow forty and fifty percent a year. Photographs of rechargeable batteries and in-store displays are shown.

Home Security: Is This the Year for You?
Article Abstract:
Although sales of home security systems are growing, consumer electronics chains have not committed themselves to the market as much as expected. Suppliers of the systems are going after widespread distribution at retail. Home security is shifting from being primarily service-based to being product-based. A chart of sales and projected sales for the years 1974 through 1985 is included.
