Toshiba reinforces programs for commercial satellites
Article Abstract:
Toshiba will make investments in FY 1998 and FY 1999 for the mass production of commercial satellites. A part of the money would be used in expanding its Cosmic Building, where its satellites are assembled and tested. Toshiba wants commercial satellite activities to account for 30% of its total satellite business by FY 2000. The company will also expand operations at its Keihin plant in Yokohama, which assembles satellites, and at its Komukai plant in Kawasaki City, which produces solar cell paddles.
