The different reasons for the sufferings of UK manufacturing and engineering firms along with its continual strive for better and innovative products for growth in the market is highlighted. Some of the reasons for the failure are lack of investment from government, outsourcing and global competition from the Far East and Eastern Europe, lack of funding from UK financial institution and venture capitalists preventing innovative products reaching market.

Twisted fins improve heat exchanger design
Article Abstract:
Brise Fabrications of Dartford that have developed a novel method of manufacturing heat exchangers that significantly improves the efficiency of the heat exchanger and reduces the cost of manufacturing is described. Brise has developed a manufacturing technique and special cutting tool that simultaneously twists and shears the axial running continuous fins on the external surface of the tube.
