Back to the future: 'Foresight 2020' offers scenarios for quality's next 20 years
Article Abstract:
The American Society for Quality's 'Foresight 2020' study was designed to offer a vision for quality in the first two decades of the 21st century. A number of scenarios were developed as part of this study. These scenarios include quality being instrumental in realizing the benefits offered by the knowledge society and the importance of quality diminishing as a result of institutional cost cutting and a lack of proactive response from quality professionals.
