Nick Scheele, COO of Ford Motor Co., decided to go 'back to basics' in 2001. The move was aimed at improving the company's finances by building quality products on time and at the right price. The company has since recorded a 27% decrease in warranty spending and a savings of more than $2 billion with Six Sigma.
