Better ways to gain process knowledge probed
Article Abstract:
Researchers in the Chemical Engineering Dept at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are studying several computer-based methods that help engineers quickly learn chemical unit operations and processes during both the process development and manufacturing phases. They discovered that the traditional passive relationship in computer-based training resulted in very little learning beyond the first few examples. They suggest that learners should have more significantly active roles in data selection and design.
