Colour me bad
Article Abstract:
The latest in the European Union's harmonisation standards for engineering practices is cable colour coding. In the UK, it will mean an end to the red, yellow and blue phase colours and it will be a legal requirement for the UK to change to a blue neutral conductor. While CENELEC wanted to base harmonisation on a brown and two blacks, the UK compromise, which it is hoped will be adopted, is to propose brown, black and grey for the phase colours.

The game's bonding: electrical bonding
Article Abstract:
The building standard BS 7671 has been updated to eliminate confusion over equipotential bonding. Many household applications, such as kitchen sinks, do not have to comply with BS 7671. Equipotential bonding is required where the risk of electrical shock is significant, for example on an industrial sink. The use of structural steel as a main equipotential bonding conductor is described.
