Colour sensors keep an eye on defects
Article Abstract:
Sick's CVS1 colour vision sensors, with its large field of view which can be positioned upto 270mm away from the target object, will enable it to detect coloured objects with uneven surfaces or inconsistent colour. Process and manufacturing engineers particularly in the automotive and food and beverage applications thus have a powerful tool than can enhance quality and reduce defect rates while ensuring that production systems still run to their optimum capacity and speed.

Serial Ethernet converter device optimises tobacco productiond
Article Abstract:
Philip Morris International, has bridged the 'gap' between production and management with the use of Ethernet TCP/IP as the connection between its IT systems and production which offers uniform communication throughout the business. Machines and production can now be monitored closely, performance and quality problems are detected and analysed early so that appropriate measures can be taken in time.
