Combat corrosion in wastewater treatment plants with stainless steels
Article Abstract:
Stainless steel piping has been used for more than three decades in the US as standard material in the construction of municipal wastewater treatment plants. Stainless steel material was originally chosen over galvanized and painted carbon steel to cut replacement costs and reduce maintenance. Performance of this family of alloys has been good to superior. A review of the performance and suitability of a number of grades being used or under consideration is presented.
