Combating organizationally induced helplessness
Article Abstract:
The organizationally induced helplessness that characterize many organizations was a result of the organizational development strategies that were popular during the 1970s and 1980s. Manifestations of organizationally induced helplessness include indecisiveness and passive-aggressive behavior among employees. This organizational dilemma can be resolved by giving work groups small projects and assignments that require creation of a developmental timeline.
