EPA proposes SOCMI consolidated air rule
Article Abstract:
The EPA has proposed a consolidated air rule (CAR) for the synthetic organic chemical manufacturing industry (SOCMI). The proposed CAR is basically a single source document consisting of a complilation of existing rules found in several new source performance standards and national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants applicable to SOCMI. For SOCMI companies, the proposed rule would make it easier for them to find out whether their facilities and processes violate existing rules.
