E&C now means "evolve and combine"
Article Abstract:
The engineering and construction industry has witnessed relatively less amalgamation as being experienced by various other industries. However, the industry has resorted to shake-ups and shake-outs. A significant change is evident in Raytheon Engineers and Constructors and Stone and Webster who are both under new management after running into serious losses on major power projects in the UK and US, respectively. The industry is also resorting to alliances and partnerships which shift froom the traditionally adversarial way of doing business tto one based ore n building long-term relationships between equal partners.

Sealless pumps: primed for gains
Article Abstract:
Sealless pumps are increasingly being used in the chemical process industry because of the simplicity and maintainability advantages of this type of pump. In addition, many companies have turned to sealless pumps because they do not have to deal with such problems as leaks and fugitive emissions. To further increase the market share of sealless pumps, manufacturers are introducing units with sophisticated pump protection and diagnostic capabilities.
