Edholm's law of bandwidth: telecommunications data rates are as predictable as Moore's law
Article Abstract:
Amongst the three types of telecommunication technologies, wireless, nomadic and wireline the least mobile, the wireline has the highest data rates. A new law presented by John H. Yaokum termed as Edholm's law states that the three telecommunications categories are interrelated and their data rates increase on similar exponential curves, the slower rates trailing the faster ones by a predictable timelag.
