International Accreditation Forum on the move
Article Abstract:
The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) is pursuing the adoption of an international accreditation system to monitor the third-party registration process. The IAF has been working on its program for multilateral recognition agreements since Sep 1996, and its goal may soon be reached as more accreditation bodies from all over the world commit themselves towards this objective. The Quality Systems Assessment Recognition (QSAR) board and IAF established a joint task force to evaluate industries' needs for accreditation.

How to turn standards turmoil into value-added strategic advantage
Article Abstract:
Corporations must develop a strategy that meets their own competitive needs in the light of increasing turmoil affecting the ISO 9000 quality assurance standard and third-party registration. The key is to assess standards and testing requirements in international markets that are being targeted for sales and other business ventures. This will enable international business enterprises to evaluate their options of either maintaining compliance to different standards or testing practices.
