French polishing up their technology
Article Abstract:
Precia Molen, a company in the Rhone Alps region of France, has developed a load cell which will cost 20% less than other models. Four metal 'columns' have been combined into one, which reduces the cost. The new cells are 15% taller than previously and can be used for loads weighing either 40 tonnes or 70 tonnes. Precia Molen has only manufactured test cells but expects to have them ready to market in March 1998.
