Addressing the current problem
Article Abstract:
Reducing the damage caused to bearings by current fluctuations is a major issue for many manufacturers who are consistently replacing worn out but expensive bearings. Insulating the bearing can help reduce overall wear and tear but does not remove the problem of current fluctuations. Researchers have found the only really effective method of reducing bearing wearing and tear is the re-design of motor engines.

Full speed ahead for hybrid bearing design
Article Abstract:
A range of bearings with enchanced design has been developed by Barden Corporation, to cope with the demand for higher power. The bearings enable an increase in speed and allow oil lubricated systems to be altered to operated with single shot grease, in constant speed applications. Bearing speed can be limited by heat generation and hertzian contact stress rates between ball and race way, but the new bearings have modified geometry, ball size, sealing design, running accuracy and curvature, to curtail such factors.
