Article Abstract:
The bearing and shafts are incorporated into a special inspection trolley, designed for the London Underground, with the aim of preventing serious back injuries to train maintenance staff. A seat and seatbelt assembly 'borrowed' from a forklift truck completes the assembly on the top of the bottle jack, and the seat can swivel through 360 degrees and recline fully, which has given a favorable feedback.

Article Abstract:
The idea of working together to educate engineers about what linear motion systems can do and how to achieve best possible results in their system designs was discussed at the Journal's offices by representatives from four leading vendors of linear motion systems. It was decided that they would work together in this move to disseminate knowledge more widely by offering training to customers.
