Handling the hobgoblins of time
Article Abstract:
Managers can effectively cut non-business-related interruptions by asking time wastrels specific questions on what they wish to communicate. If the visitor is persistent, then managers have to be straightforward regarding the limited time they can spare for non-business matters. However, if the visitor's request may be attended to in a few minutes, it would be best to handle it at once, rather than asking the person to see you later. If the matter presented is of greater importance, then assign a specific time slot for handling it.
