Helmets sense the hard knocks
Article Abstract:
Collision in football players during a game often exceed the force of gravity by 100 times, and brain injuries in football players provide a growing concern as these are not always reported by the players and coaches cannot easily decide whether to have a player off the game before any serious injury is identified. A device, Head Impact Telemetry (HIT) System, has been developed by Simbex to provide data on how hard a hit was and to which part of the helmet.
