How to prevent teams from failing
Article Abstract:
The implementation of the four phases of a simple model of teamwork called The Leader's Window can make the quality initiatives of corporations successful. Phase one involves starting with a team orientation. The work assignments to team members are delegated in phase two and the team leader addresses the plan of action and the help required by the members. Execution of work by the members, and team problem solving constitutes the third and the fourth phases. Bruce Tuckman's group development model distorts the realities of teamwork. The importance of leadership styles is discussed.
