ISO 9000 Changes the Quality Focus

The International Organization for Standardization 9000 introduced some changes in business process viewing. Performing inspections in conformity with a group of individual quality disciplines would no longer be enough. Inspections during manufacture on a business system approach should be done and at critical points where they would most add value.

The International Organization for Standardization's ISO 14000 Environmental Management System standard will be published in late 1996. The ISO 14000 is a global voluntary standard for management, measurement, communication and improvement of the environmental impact of manufacturing companies regardless of company size.
