What's causing your catalyst to decay?
Article Abstract:
The catalyst deactivation mechanism for fixed-bed reactors is described. The catalyst deactivation mechanism for such reactors has a great impact on process economics. It determines whether a set of reactors is better operated in parallel or in series. The wrong reactor configuration wastes capital and results in higher-than-necessary operating costs. If the catalyst deactivates by a spatial mechanism, then it should be operated in series to achieve the best process conversion. If it deactivates by a temporal mechanism, then it should be operated in parallel.

Improve fixed-bed reactor performance without capital expenditure
Article Abstract:
Scientists have arrived at a strategy that would increase productivity as well as enhance the performance of a fixed-bed catalyst. Reaction rate and transport rate are the two kinds of limitations determine the performance of the fixed-bed catalyst.
