London icon gets a welcome overhaul
Article Abstract:
The London Tower Bridge that has always attracted a number of visitors has got its much-needed overhaul especially because of vibration problems that were enhanced when heavy vehicles passed over the bridge. Vibrations from the trunnion shaft were transmitted onto the steelwork of the towers and along with the shaft the bearings showed signs of wear and extensive repairs were carried on all worn out parts.

Delta Tau's predictive Lookahead software for its Turbo PMAC allows users to create a more efficient machine cycle by enhancing the handling of acceleration and deceleration. The controller is simple to use and, once initiated, operates transparently. Once parameters have been set, the software scans the action of each motor and seeks potential violations of its limits.
