Article Abstract:
The list ranks the US' Top 100 engineering firms by their mechanical/electrical (M/E) billings for the previous fiscal year. Black & Veatch (Kansas City, MO) is ranked No. 1 with $1.02 billion in M/E revenue in its last fiscal year; followed by Sverdrup Corporation (Maryland Heights, MO) with $293.07 million; then The Austin Company (Cleveland, OH) with $260.02 million. Radiant romance
Article Abstract:
CDS Associates Inc was contracted to design the radiant-heating system at the Cincinnati Zoo in Ohio. The system was used to simulate the natural living environment of a rare albino alligator, one of only six known species of its kind in the world. CDS' system, which used eight thermostats and 1,025 feet of mineral-insulated cable, was used in five basking areas and three pools to maintain the critical temperature required to make a habitat conducive to breeding.
