Quality and the theory of constraints
Article Abstract:
The success of a company no longer depends only on the quality of the products, though quality is an essential condition. The necessary factor is a thinking process that allows a company to consider the effects of local actions and decisions on the overall result. The theory of constraints (TOC) is an approach that can be applied to bring about improvements. The TOC allows the perusal of the rules, conditions, and policies of a company. It highlights the factors that limit the success of the company and defines the factors to be changed and the methods of effecting the changes.

The conflict resolution diagram: creating win-win situations
Article Abstract:
It is common for conflict to be hidden in some way. This means that it often remains unrecognized, and may therefore be difficult to resolve effectively. When considering conflict resolution techniques, the first stage is to structure the conflict so that both sides are clearly aware of it and the problems it creates. This can be achieved through a conflict resolution diagram. One of the main benefits of a conflict resolution diagram is its ability to extent people's thinking beyond the limitations of tradition or common practice.

Conflict and complexity
Article Abstract:
Problem solving in large and complex systems needs process improvement tools that can be scalable to these systems. The Challenger space shuttle disaster of 1986 could have been prevented if decision makers used more advanced problem solving and logical thinking techniques.
