Quick off the mark: better understanding of rapid prototyping could make UK manufacturing more competitive
Article Abstract:
Europe's rapid product development (RPD) sector is worth more than 30 billion pounds sterling and set to at least double in size by 2004. However, a study from the Institution of Engineering Designers says that the British market is fragmented and undervalued. An associated report from RPD company Styles Precision Components emphasizes the need for British manufacturers to exploit the RPD sector's value-added services.

Lubricating the parts others cannot reach
Article Abstract:
Lubricant withstands extreme pressures and has low surface tension properties that are ideal for penetrating and lubricating awkward and difficult to reach moving parts. A study conducted in this context reveals that it contains no silicone, PTFE, molybdenum disulphide or chlorinated solvents and can be used safely in areas such as automotive body shops.
