New standard aims to improve science education
Article Abstract:
A national committee of teachers, scientists and educators, along with the National Research Council, has proposed a new science curriculum for schools to increase scientific literacy among K-12 students. The standards outline the science content to be acquired by the end of each grade, and recommend learning by doing instead of passive memorization. Teachers will be free to choose any method which makes learning enjoyable and useful.
