High street slips on a downward spiral: two new studies confirm that high streets are still suffering

Chartered surveyors do not have much confidence in the retail occupier market according to a survey by the RICS. Another report by Mintel, market analysts, indicates that changes to the planning system will not have much impact on the decline of the town centre. High streets in the UK will need to cater for upmarket shoppers as well as focusing on convenience shopping in the future.

New advisory panel vows to tackle strategic issues
