Texas Nameplate Company: All you need is trust
Article Abstract:
Texas Nameplate Company (TNC) is a manufacturer of nameplates, set up in 1946. When it began its formal quality improvement processes total nonconformances (defined as internal and external rejects), were between 15-18% of billing. That defect rate has come down to 3.7% in 1997. Part of the process was a gain-sharing plan distributing bonuses equally to all employees. The company's daily operation innovation team (DOIT) provides direction for improving quality.
