Restructuring the bill of material for productivity: a strategic evaluation of product configuration
Article Abstract:
One big advantage of a restructured bill of material as against one that is traditionally structured is its flexibility in terms of business planning and other applications. It makes the firm more productive and competitive and reduces inventory management costs because of a significant change in inventory turnarounds. Quality, however, may suffer because of the complexity of the restructuring process. This last observation is, nonetheless, inconclusive.

Strategic inventory management of renewable energy resources: aluminum as an energy storage medium and market commodity
Article Abstract:
An innovative system of energy storage and transportation using aluminum is described. The system addresses the energy storage problems of renewable sources. These sources first produce electrolytic aluminum, which is stored and transported. The material can then be burned by using catalysts, and this produces power at the time and place it is needed. The power is produced by using modified combustors in conventional thrmoelectric power stations.
