Article Abstract:

People would be able to make realistic, workable resolutions if they adopt a perspective that takes into consideration their ideal roles. The goals they formulate should be in harmony with these roles, whether they be social roles or career-related roles. Social roles include that of being a parent, a spouse, membership in a community or a church. On the other hand, career-related roles refer to the myriad of responsibilities emanating from one's job.
