From Trident to the track
Article Abstract:
It takes a year to design a Formula One car, according to Jaguar Racing CAE Manager Steve Nevey. He indicates that Jaguar does not seek to reduce lead times, but that it aims to keep the design process going for as long as possible. He believes that there are no significant problems associated with creating a paperless design environment.

Straight lay-up offers greater strength
Article Abstract:
C Spars has implemented a straightforward carbon fibre lay-up process developed by Brian Vincent. This process, developed to form inexpensive, lightweight masts, makes it possible to easily align fibres along the zero axis without the need for processes using female-moulds. There is improved control over the fibre volume fraction.
