Simple extensions of safe-point methods for stiff systems
Article Abstract:
Several safe-point methods were given by Lambert for use with fixed-step and potentially with variable-step problems with one, isolated stiff eigenvalue estimated by the power method as part of the solution. A forward-and-backward extension was also given to generate solutions at strictly equal spacing in the independent variable, with the intention of suppressing the eigenvector in the solution corresponding to the stiff eigenvalue. Coefficients are selected by exponentially fitted methods so that the correct exponential decay is matched at one point in the spectrum such as a pre-fixed value or potentially a computed stiff eigenvalue. Safe-point methods are extended here to multiple and non-isolated stiff eigenvalues, some or all of which may be pre-approximated rather than computed. The extensions are simple, straightforward and well suited to non-hardware-interactive real-time applications requiring time steps that are strictly equal and predictable computational loads.

Directory of vendors of simulators, specific components, and related services
Article Abstract:
This directory offers the names, addresses, and phone numbers of simulator, specific component, and related service vendors. Vendor types include aircraft simulators; communications, electronics and radar; components specific to simulators; consultants and related services; continuous, batch and semi-batch processes; engineering development, education, and research; power plants and power systems; real-time maintenance and development; services using simulators; supervisory control and data acquisition systems; vehicles and other simulators; and hardware and software combinations. The directory offers specific vendor categories, such as flight control or training program design, and cross-referencing to other vendor types.

Directory of vendors of simulators, specific components and related services
Article Abstract:
Vendors of computer-based simulators, components, and services are listed for several types of industry needs: aircraft, electronics and radar communications, simulation components, consultants, batch processes, engineering development, power plants and systems, real-time systems, supervisory control, data acquisition, vehicle simulators, and hardware and software combinations. All contributors to the directory sell simulators, components, services for simulators or services using simulators. Company name, address and phone number are listed for each vendor.
