Software makes CMMs versatile, flexible
Article Abstract:
The advent of coordinate measuring machine (CMM) software has eliminated the tedious and cumbersome work required with these machines running on complex programs. CMMs have become more user-friendly and have begun to incorporate computer-aided design features. This increased power have prompted quality practitioners to consider their transfer to the production environment from the laboratory. EST Co., a unit of Grafton, WI-based Leggett and Platt, is one company which has integrated CMMs into its daily production process.
