Spreading our wings to Europe's Airbus
Article Abstract:
British Aerospace PLC continues to work on the wings for the European Airbus as well as new projects, including the double-decker A3XX. This new aircraft could begin passenger service in 2003, carrying up to 800 passengers. British Aerospace attributes its success in the Airbus project to advanced technical design, structured engineering management, excellent computer technology and the development of interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with partners and suppliers.

A description is presented concerning the design and construction of a pressure sensor which makes use of an internal diaphragm. An innovative technique using silicone oil or gas which prevents diaphragm distortion is discussed.
