St. Louis conference focuses on standard and government regulation dance
Article Abstract:
Standards being upheld as regulations and its negative impact on small businesses was the main issue addressed in a St. Louis, MO, conference on international standards. That government representatives used to imposing regulations are the same people who promulgate standards make matters worse for small businesses which are forced to adopt standards better suited for larger businesses. It should also be noted that appropriate standards for a particular industry in a particular region may be totally inappropriate to another.
