Article Abstract:
Construction of the Fujitsu factory in Newton Aycliffe, Durham, England was completed in 18 months under fast track conditions. The electrical installation included high and medium voltage networks and had to be ready for connection as soon as the equipment and machinery was delivered. Working under clean room conditions, the contractors installed temporary supports for cables with containments constructed after machinery had been connected.

Electrifying the English end
Article Abstract:
Seeboard and ESB International are working on three contracts for electrical works at the English terminus of the Channel Tunnel. The three contracts are for high and low voltage systems and substations, lighting and traction supply works. The contractors have to work to high levels of reliability and safety and also use equipment that is compatible with that used on the French side of the Tunnel.
