Article Abstract:
The possibility of cyber warfare, or information warfare, is taken seriously by military experts. The situation is made more complex because people are increasingly reliant on computer networks, and moreover, civilian and military networks are increasingly interconnected. Even so, opinions about how vulnerable networks actually are vary. An analyst at the Rand Corp characterizes the situation as 'a problem, but not a crisis.'
