Industrial Research Institute's annual R&D trends survey
Article Abstract:
The ninth annual survey of research and development (R&D) trends conducted by the Industrial Research Institute shows that industrial R&D will continue to suffer from the recession for one more year, or throughout 1993. The results indicate a less hopeful viewof industrial R&D, as 28% of the 141 firms surveyed expect to reduce their total R&D expenditures in 1993. Thirty-six percent also expect to cut back on capital spending for R&D while only 10% expect to hire more fresh graduates.
