Thermal process transforms turkey parts into profits
Article Abstract:
At the $20 million facility of ConAgra Inc. Carthage, 200 metric ton/d of poultry offal-innards, bones, feathers, fats, grease will be converted into 600 bbl/d of oil, 10 ton/d of gas, 11 ton/d of minerals and 21,000 gal/d of water at an efficiency of 85 %. Turkey offal can be used to produce fatty acids for soaps and lubricants.
