Total cycle time compression and the agile supply chain
Article Abstract:
The concept of the information enriched supply chain is proposed for manufacturers to attain agility. Adoption of the concept, together with good business systems engineering principles, results in a dramatic reduction in information and material flow lead times. They also lead to the creation of a structural supply chain that utilizes market knowledge and a virtual corporation to take advantage of profitable opportunities present in a changing marketplace.
