Using competitive benchmarking to set goals
Article Abstract:
Benchmarking is the process of comparing a company's performance on meeting customer needs with the best in the industry to find out the areas that require quality improvement. Competitive benchmarking fosters innovation, thereby enhancing product and service quality. A decentralized approach to the data gathering process is suggested to increase the efficiency of benchmarking. The process includes the identification of companies to benchmark, collection and analysis of data, communication of findings and the creation of the right strategy.
